Position Cleaners (full time / part time)
Responsible to Visitor Services Manager
Responsible for No responsibility for staff
Primary Responsibilities - To undertake cleaning duties throughout the Magna building and offices, both while open and closed to the public.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Clean all exhibition, and visitor areas throughout the Magna building, including all toilet facilities, floors, surfaces, and walls during the period when the building is closed to the public in line with agreed rotas and cleaning specifications
- Clean and tidy all exhibits and signage in line with agreed cleaning specifications and rotas when closed and open to the public
- Ensure all areas are maintained in a clean and tidy state throughout the period when Magna is open to the public, and complete agreed cleaning procedures and checklists
- Attend situations which require cleaning as required, when notified by the Front of House Staff and Duty Manager
- Check toilet and other visitor friendly facilities on a periodic basis as agreed with Management and ensure that all consumables are maintained, including toilet rolls, soap, paper towels, and other materials within these facilities
- Check standards of decoration and report faults to the Duty Manager
- Ensure that the public areas of the restaurant and café are maintained in a clean and tidy manner, and attend incidents in these areas, which require cleaning, when required. Empty bins
- Maintain stocks of cleaning materials, and equipment, informing the duty Manager if any stocks are required. Inform technical staff of any problems with mechanical cleaning devices.
- Inform the duty Manager if any stocks of consumables for visitor friendly facilities are required
- Empty bins and ensure that all waste is transferred to the relevant receptacle
- Clean and tidy the packed lunch eating area within the Education Block, transferring waste as appropriate
- Carry out any other duties of a similar nature as may be reasonably requested by the management
Person Specification
All cleaners must be adaptable, enthusiastic, and diligent in their duties. As this is a front of house position all cleaners must be able to interact with visitors when required, and have a high level of customer care awareness.
The facilities within Magna should be kept to the highest possible standard, therefore all cleaning staff will be expected to efficiently carry out any rotas and cleaning specifications introduced by the Management. They must also be available to work weekends and bank holidays.
Pay will be £5.80 per hour based on a 22.5hour weekly contract. Overtime opportunities are available.
All appointments are subject to medical and enhanced CRB clearance.
