Visits to Magna
Visits to Magna come in all shapes and sizes, you might be visiting for science and technology, art and design, architecture, steel heritage, workshops, vocational learning, or adventure sports. Whatever your learning aim our bookings team will structure your day to provide a high quality visit.
If you're visiting to support the science and technology curriculum then a typical day is organised by booking a Focus Time in a pavilion, discovery time around the rest of Magna and any additional workshops, or shows you require. Lunch times, use of the outdoor facilities, and visiting the Magna store can also be built into your itinerary.
Entry times are at 9:45 am or 10:45 am to allow 15 minutes for registration, storage of bags and lunches. Focus Times are from 10 am to 11 am, or from 12 noon to 1 pm and you can pre-book a pavilion of your choice. Focus Times are led by Magna staff in the pavilions. Discovery time is from 11 am to 12 noon and from 1 pm to 5 pm. At these times you may explore the other pavilions, steel heritage, the outdoor facilities or the Magna store. (Please note that Focus Times are not available for booking in June and July).
Groups can bring their own packed lunch and will be booked into one of our lunch areas at a suitable time. Hot meals can be arranged on request.
Following your booking we will send you a confirmation letter, class itineraries, an invoice and any other relevant information. An education resource pack is also available to support your school's visit and this can be downloaded free from the Resources section.

The Kitchen Sink Show can also be booked to visit your school. It is recommended for KS1, KS2 and Y7. Each show usually lasts one hour and we can fit in a maximum of 4 shows per day for up to 150 children per show.
The Kitchen Sink Show costs £350 (ex VAT) for a full day. For schools more than a two hour drive away from Magna the cost is £450 (ex VAT) for a full day. Half day bookings are available only for local schools in Rotherham and Sheffield at £250 (ex VAT).
