
Heritage Open Days at Magna
10th September 2008As part of Heritage Open Days, in conjunction with the Civic Trust, Magna Science Adventure Centre will be offering free steel tours between 11th and 14th September. Discover the secrets of the steel industry join the steel heritage tour at Magna and step into the world of the steelworks. Experience the Big Melt, Templeborough's original arc furnace, brought back to life through exciting pyrotechnics and special effects.
Heritage Open Days is a national event to encourage visitors to access thousands of building and places across England which are usually closed to the public or charge for admission. Guided tours are available by our very own Magna staff with first hand experience of working in the steel industry. Their stories, recollections and knowledge of the industry allow the heritage of the steel works to come back to life.
The Steel Heritage Tour is free to Heritage Open Days visitors. An admission charge is payable if visitors wish to experience the main Magna attraction. Visitors are recommended to turn up on the day around 30 minutes before the tour to pre-book on.
