Wildlife Photographer of the Year at Magna

Magna Science Adventure Centre is excited to be welcoming the Wildlife Photographer of the Year a touring exhibition to the venue later this year.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year  is a competition to find the very best wildlife images taken by the world's top professional and amateur photographers. This spectacular exhibition will be showcased this summer between 27th June - 2nd August 2009 at Magna Science Adventure Centre.  Some of the year's most breathtaking photographs from around the world will be on display.

Entry into the Wildlife Photographer of the Year is free to Magna visitors and Magna Members or for visitors wishing to just see the exhibition ticket prices are £5 Adult, £3 Child and £14 Family of Four.

Magna and the Wildlife Trust for Sheffield and Rotherham will also be running an exciting competition in conjunction with the opening of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

Participants will be able to upload their photographs onto the Magna website at www.visitmagna.co.uk/wildlife. A panel of judges will then shortlist and the finalists images will then go onto the Magna website for voting by the general public. The winner of the competition will be announced on 4th January 2010.

 Participants will be able to enter the following categories

  1. Nature Reserves - adult and child (under 16s)
  2. Urban and Garden Wildlife - adult and child (under 16s)
  3. Nature close up - adult and child (under 16s)
  4. People and Wildlife - adult and child (under 16s)
