Fossil Fun at Magna Science Adventure Centre

It's time to wind back the clock at Magna Science Adventure Centre with family workshops making and learning about fossils. The workshops will take place Monday to Friday 1.00pm to 4.00pm and are included in admission to Magna.

Throughout the week, there's also your chance to ride the Zip Wire through the former steelworks. Climb the long and winding walkway into the rafters of Magna to the 500ft Indoor Zip Wire 6 stories above the ground.  The jumpmaster will attach you and then as you push off, see the sights and sounds of Magna below, as you travel through the air at 30mph before safely entering the landing zone. (Height restrictions apply and a charge of £4.00 is payable for the Zip Wire)

Special exhibition Eye for Colour explores the fascinating science of colour and how it influences the world around us in ways you've never realised before. View the world through the eyes of a dog; uncover the meaning of your favourite colour; dress-up in camouflage and learn how to disguise yourself like an animal; get creative and design your own masterpiece on the Art Machine, and see just how tasty blue sausages and green bacon look in The Colour Café! Due to unforeseen circumstances, Eye for Colour is closing earlier than planned on the 1^st September, so get down whilst you still can to experience the rainbow!

And Magna is starting the last week of the summer holidays in style with a Family Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday 25^th August. The fun day will have something for everybody, with a wide range of activities additional to the awe-inspiring attraction that is Magna.

Why not try your hand at circus skills with our resident troupe, Swamp Circus? or join in with some workshops with Socatots © who will be running ball skills workshops for children from six months to school age?

Throughout the afternoon, there will be a host of activities including foam bowling, frisbee targeting and space hopper races. And to celebrate the last week of Eye for Colour, any child turning up in yellow on the Bank Holiday Monday will get in for free**. Use what you learn in Eye for Colour in our summer workshops which are all about Smartie Chromatography, or in other words, what colours make up Smarties! The workshops will take place Monday-Friday 1.00pm-4.00pm and are included in the admission price.

There will also be fairground rides, face painting and a special trail around the outdoor playground, on the bank holiday Monday with your chance to win tickets for another fantastic day out at one of Yorkshire's Magnificent Attractions.
