Magna is temporarily CLOSED. We expect to hear from UK Gov week commencing Mon 10th May, whether or not the country will be moving to the next stage of re-opening from 17th May; this includes Magna. If we get the go ahead, then it takes a couple of weeks to get the building and exhibition ready for welcoming visitors. We are planning to host school trips from Tue 8th June.
In the meantime, if you wish to book a school visit to Magna please email: email@example.com
You can read about the changes we made last autumn to enable school visits here.
Magna is a science centre with unique learning opportunities. It is an awesome building set in the former Templeborough steelworks, providing an exciting and inspiring education visit. Pupils can explore and discover science, technology, design and industrial history in an incredible, hands-on environment.

“Thanks for such an inspirational facility that you have established to support appreciation of the heritage of the Steel industry. I visited Magna, from Denaby Main Primary, with my Y6 children. We were truly spoilt by John’s Living Steel workshop- the children enjoyed the science-based experimentation, mixing of ingredients, handling of objects and the highlight, for us, was to watch a true forger at work. John shared, not just his skill with, but his heart for, Steel.” Lynn Mathers, Denaby Main Primary School.
