Conference Porter Manager

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Manage a team of conference and events porters
- Oversee the set-up and de-rig of meeting rooms as per guest requirements to meet company standards and in a timely fashion
- Assist with banqueting set ups
- Store and maintain conference equipment
- Attend weekly function sheet meetings
- Look forward and prepare for future events
- Respond to the changing needs of the guests in a timely manner
- Carry out ‘Ad hoc’ duties
- Be aware and understand all relevant guidelines, policies and health & safety paperwork.
- To carry out scheduled weekly and monthly maintenance or safety checks as listed by the Operations Manager
- When time permits, to decorate, repair or adapt rooms as agreed with the senior management team
- This position reports to the Events Manager
Qualifications and requirements
Essential:
- Experience in a managerial role
- Good communication skills
- Flexibility regarding working hours – this role will include night working
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn
Desirable:
- Experience of working in hospitality
- Fork truck and IPAF Licence
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £24,000.00 per year
